SUPPORT THE HOMELESS STREET MINISTRY AT OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CHURCH
​How to help
Provide snack bags, NEW undergarments, and NEW fleece blankets to the homeless in the Claremont and the Pomona area north of Holt Ave.

Approach
Purchase food at the local stores, according to a list of items as specified on the donation sheet. Purchase undergarments (all sizes) and fleece blankets. Leave the food (NEW undergaments or NEW blankets) in the cart provided at the west door of the church, within the patio area.

Alternatively, donate funds for food to be purchased for homeless food bags, per the specified donation list. These bags will then be assembled in the home of one of the OLA parishioners and given to a driver to pass out. Note: donated funds will not be used to procure NEW undergarments or blankets, only food.

Relevance
Folks from Claremont (particularly the train station) and the stretch of Pomona north of Holt Ave between Indian Hill and Gary cannot easily get to a food donation site (they are many miles away). Thus, they wait until they are desperate before they show up for food. By the time they make it to a food pantry, they are extremely hungry and in great need of food.
